Over the last few months, Christian & I have been in the works of beginning the the new section in the 1924 antique store for Women! This gave us both the drive to start photographing the antiques in a way that reflected lifestyle set ups. Both to inspire people (to see the items in a practical and beautiful light), and also for ourselves to be more creative with the pieces and work with the potential of not just what the items were in the past, or what they were created for, but what they could be used for today! It also gave us the idea to totally move houses, but lets not go into this now! SO the store has been going for quite some time, Christian has quite the large, curated and treasured section of pieces that take you back to WW2, WW1, early settlers, the 1920's, even native American. Basically they cover a large range. However we saw the need to curate some more feminine items, to be used for styling the home / workspace and for practical use.
I have always had a soft spot for french simplicity. Items that were used in the farm houses, weaved, clay, wood, brass, copper items, and of course clothing. Mainly linens, hemps and cottons. On our last trip to Paris together we, of course, found ourselves in the flea market with some good friends sifting through the timeless beautiful items and deciding what was appropriate to take back to Oregon with us as additions to the store. The pieces in the store truly do come from places far and wide. We are truly passionate and are convinced each piece has a charm all of it's own worth a place in somebodies creative vision for a space. Weather it stays with us for a long time or goes to you.
